FieldSource-Energy Services Upgrades Piti Monitoring System

FieldSource-Energy Services installs Tiger(TM) Monitoring System
to achieve cost savings and improved operations at Piti 7 power station.

FieldSource Energy Services worked closely with the site operations at Piti-7 Power station to upgrade the gas turbine monitoring to the latest Tiger(TM) Diagnostic System by Turbine Services, Ltd. (TSL).  The aging power plant is critical to the reserve power and stable operation of the national power grid, and the monitoring system is used to help identify faults by detecting the first symptoms of a developing problem. 

The system was installed by one engineer at site with the support of the TSL team in Scotland, and is capable of taking thousands of data readings per second while performing simultaneous fault detection checks. The knowledge based analytics and diagnostics are shown on an easy to read fault manager display. “Upgrading the monitoring & diagnostic system at the site has saved multiple visits to site by being able to detect potential problems early, alerting the operators and working closely with the site teams to make changes before a failure occurred. This has saved measurable time and money in implementing a rapid solution, and more importantly has prevented more serious issues from happening because they were recognized early” said Ted Toth, Managing Director of FieldSource Energy Services.
